CRASH OF THE EAST

CRASH MOREAU
Mix the words "fire, danger and explosion" and you have just described The Crash Of The East, Crash Moreau. Crash has a flair for the spectacular and is one of the only traveling stunt performers in North America now performing the Leap Of Death Automobile Crash.
For over a quater of a century, he has earned the tittle of "King Of The Car Crashers". He estimates he has totally demolished over 2,000 cars in "divebomber, sidewinders, t-bone and solid barrier crashes" such as ice, steel and cement block walls, as a daily attraction at major events thru out North America.
The Crash Of The East is a 39 year veteran stunt performer, Jimmy "Crash" Moreau, aka as the Maine Maniac. Crash hails from Lincoln, Maine and is the oldest car crashing daredevil touring in the business today.
Crash started his career as a stock car driver in 1966 and than moved to the touring thrill shows in 1967 with the Joie Chitwood Automobile Thrill Show. The following year Crash started crashing autos on the Buddy Wagner's Lucky Mustang Hell Drivers. In 1972 his auto crashing escalated with the Death Riders Motorcycle Thrill show that was based in Danville, Illinois. Crash was hired to perform car crashes. The owner Floyd Reed came up with the
idea of doing the divebomber crash with the car on fire. After talking to numerous stuntmen in the business he took the idea of the only one that said it could be done every day and performed the act more than 500 times. Only twice did he have minor injuries. The first was when he ate the steering wheel when he hit the landing with a motor to motor crash. The second time was when the burning hay came inside of the car and landed on his lap on impact.
In the mid 70's, Crash watched the Unbeivable Lessard Brothers of Quebec, Canada perform The Steel Wall Crash. Later he was told how to set-up and perform this now famous act. Jim became the first American to perform this stunt, and the first stuntman in the US to use a convertible. In 30 years only 2 other Americans have done the Steel Wall with a convertible. I know one stuntman from out west that will not use a car unless he has a full roll-bar, racing seat and fuel cell in the car. In 30 plus years of performing this act I have
never used any set-up of any kind to perform this spectacular stunt. There has been many who has copied this act, and many who has been injured some serious, but with 30 years experiance Crash had only one injury and that was he banged his elbow on the steering wheel. No one does it as good as The Great Crash! Crash has performed this act more than 1,000 times in his career. He has performed the stunt in more than 35 different variation including using a school bus to stand up.
Since 1972, Crash has performed ice walls, t-bones, sidewinders, flying head-ons, flaming house crashes, flaming barrel crashes, from small to big divembombers, road-block crashes, controlled roll-overs, leaping a stock auto thru the side of a semi-trailor and the Triangle of Death - Pryamid Crash.
In the mid 80's, Crash built a ramp on the back of a schol bus and started performing a divebomber leap over the bus more than 100 jumps. After touring in 1989 on the Canadain Auto Circus tour with the bus jump he built the world's largest cannon for the owner of the Auto Circus the following year. the cannon was designed to shoot a car out of a big tube, landing into a row of parked cars in a divebomber style landing.
In the 90's, crash watched Greg Riddell a super stuntman from Ontario, Canada perform what he calls the Torpedo Crash. Since those days Crash has taken this stunt up a notch and noe explodes everything into a ball of fire. Crash has even used a convertible to drive thru this wall of up to 4 cars.
In 2002, Crash started the school bus steel wall crash using a school bus to stand straight up.
In 2004 , Crash was the first to drive a school bus straight into the side of another school bus, breaking the bus into two pieces. The first time he performed this act he received his
first serious injury, but this did not stop him from performing the rest of the summer without missing a show, no matter how sick he was from the intestinal injury from the crash of the bus.
In his career of over 39 years he has only used vehicles that was of stock origin. Only twice in his life has he used a roll-bar and this was only because the car that he was going to drive already had one in it as they were former racing cars.
Crash has performed more crashes in his lifetime than all but a handfull of stuntperformers in the world. As a seasoned pro, you may see him behind the wheel of a new automobile in precission driving or on an ATV or motorcycle, snowmobiles, go-kart or walking on fire. You may have seen him in the movies; "Diamonds Are Forever", "Death Riders", "Death Driver", "Rock N Road Trip", "Friday The 13th" and television programs "Thrill Seekers", "In Search Of", "AXN- TV" plus many local progams in different area's of the country.
